Instructions prior to having General Anesthesia   Nothing to eat or drink 8 hours prior to surgery, or nothing to eat or drink after midnight if you have a morning appointment. Not following these instructions could be life threatening when undergoing general anesthesia and may cause cancellation of your procedure.   Please wear a short sleeve shirt.   Bring someone with you over the age of 18 to drive you home and stay in our office while you are here.   Both index fingers with no nail polish.   No makeup.   No hard contact lenses.   No stockings.   Local anesthesia or nitrous can have no more than a light meal. The method of of your anesthesia will be discussed at your consultation. If you are unsure of which anesthesia will be used please contact our office.
